Influence of Internet Media on College Students’ Political Trust

Abstract:  The rise of network media has made political discourse popular and broadened the channels of political democratic participation, but it has had a negative impact on the political trust of college students along with the constant changes in the network society Objectively speaking, the complex publicity means of network media has shaken the political trust of college students The diversification and entertainment of network information erode the ideology of college students, thus leading to deviation of their political outlook Psychologically speaking, the emotional dissemination of network political information has dispelled the political rationality of college students The continuous fermentation of network populism under the influence of netizens’ imitation and conformity psychology has weakened the political identity of college students Finally, from the perspectives of government departments, network media and college students, the measures to deal with the weakening of college students’ political trust by network media are briefly expounded
