%X Green technology innovation has always been an important part of green innovation research, but there are still different opinions on the influence of environmental regulation on green technology innovation Based on the research on the influence of environmental regulation and R&D investment on green technology innovation, the mechanism of environmental regulation on green technology innovation and the important role of R&D investment are explored The empirical results of panel threshold model show that the influence of environmental regulation on green technology innovation presents a significant V-shaped threshold feature, and the effects of environmental regulation on green technology innovation will be significantly different under different conditions of R&D investment intensity In addition, the industrial structure and the degree of opening to the outside world promote green technology innovation, among which the degree of opening to the outside world has no significant impact, while the level of economic development significantly inhibits green technology innovation
